Free Full Service Ceremony!

If you will let Rev. Phil shoot video and photos of you and your entire bridal party for 90 minutes — starting 2.5 hours before your ceremony — he will do a free full service ceremony for you!

Criteria

You must be getting married:
  • in Chicago or the suburbs in Illinois
  • in February, March or April 2012
  • indoors, in a banquet room with no windows behind the officiant (don’t want to show snow in the background, will be odd to someone viewing it in the summer)
  • be 22-32 years old and physically fit. (Yes, Rev. Phil knows he is neither :>)
  • Bride must wear a wedding dress, groom and groomsmen wear tuxes, bridesmaids wear bridesmaids dresses — to look like a typical American wedding
    • Couple must be willing to see each other before the ceremony
  • Everyone in the bridal party must agree to participate in 90 minute photo/video shoot and sign a waiver granting permission for Rev. Phil to use images online, in blog, etc.
    • Must have at least 3 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen
    • Must have at least 1 ring bearer and 1 flower girl
    • Must have at least 1 mother/father for bride and groom (or someone in a tux/dress to stand in for them. Stepparents are just fine)
  • Other vendors must know and cooperate
    • Flowers and other decorations must be set up before photo/video shoot
    • DJ must set up before the shoot (if using one). Must have microphone on a stand (and, if possible, a lapel mic).
    • Hair and makeup for ladies done before photo/video shoot
    • Venue must OK the extra time needed before the ceremony.
  • Rev. Phil strongly recommends that you hire Milestone Video & Photography — Bob Busch and Dave Frizelle — to shoot photos and video at your wedding. They will do both for 40% off their usual rate! They are the ones actually doing the photo/video shoot.
  • Photo/video shoot is NOT the rehearsal. That will have happened on a previous day (also free!)

Schedule

If, for example, you are getting married on a Friday at 6:00pm, the schedule would be:
  • 3:30pm - 5:00pm         Rev. Phil shoots video and photos with the entire wedding party
  • 5:00pm - 6:00pm         Rest, hide from guests as they arrive around 5:30pm
  • 6:00pm - 6:30pm         Ceremony!

If, for example, you are getting married on a Sunday at 1:00pm

  • 10:30am - 12:00pm Rev. Phil shoots video and photos with the entire wedding party
  • 12:00pm - 1:00pm Rest, hide from guests as they arrive around 12:30pm
  •   1:00pm - 1:30pm Ceremony!

What Happens During the 90 Minute Video/Photo Shoot?

You will go through the motions — “right” and “wrong” — of:
  • Unity candle
  • Unity sand
  • Memorial candles
  • Flowers for mothers
  • How to bridesmaids and groomsmen walk in the processional — pacing, how your arm/hand
  • Tips for flower girl and ring bearer
  • How bridesmaids and groomsmen stand during ceremony
  • Saying vows
  • Using microphone(s)
  • Etc.
  • Etc.

Rev. Phil will provide all the props. You just need to “act” out the different scenarios. Rev. Phil will coach/direct.

It will be scripted. Rev. Phil will have an assistant helping him that day.

The entire bridal party — parents, bridesmaids, groomsmen, ring bearer, flower girl — need to be there the whole time.
